Marching for Democracy: DCoGT in Tracy’s Independence Day Parade

On a sun-soaked July 4th, the Democratic Club of Greater Tracy proudly joined the community in downtown Tracy to celebrate our nation's founding and the democratic values that continue to shape our future.

This year, our float carried the theme: “Democracy = 3 Co-Equal Branches of Government.”

Led by none other than James Madison (the architect of the Constitution) and George Washington (Founding Father and first president), our entry honored the essential structure of American democracy three branches, equal in power, designed to balance and protect the will of the people.

Club members brought that vision to life, each representing the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches, standing together behind a banner reminding us all that democracy depends on co-equal power.

But our message didn’t stop there.

Walking beside our float, we proudly held signs that celebrated core democratic values:

🌍 Love for Earth

🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ+ Equality

📚 Public Education

🗣️ Free Speech

⚖️ Justice & Fairness

💖 Compassion

🏥 Healthcare for All

✊ Individual Rights... and more.

As we made our way down 10th Street and Central Avenue, we handed out red, white, and blue necklaces, candy, pocket Constitutions, and mini American flags. The parade route was alive with energy, laughter, cheers, and civic pride, a true reminder that democracy lives through us.

We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who marched with us, waved from the sidelines, and showed up in support of democracy and community.

Here in Tracy, we celebrate freedom not just with fireworks, but with action, unity, and heart.

🇺🇸💙
